My Single Cab. My poor poor Single Cab. After the demise of the broke.shop it became nothing more than a sum of parts hidden away under brown tarps and bungee cords. I ignored it. I neglected it. I even almost sold it. Then one day my father and brother smacked me upside the head (not literally) and told me that we would find a way to get it into my dad’s warehouse.
So being in Broke.Status for what seems and feels like forever, I’ve heard my share of pan smashing stories. I have always thought that it was a badge of honor or something, but I never wanted to get that badge, ever. Well yesterday I decided I needed an oil change before heading out with most of the Broke boys to the Toys for Tots GTG in Maine. I was about 1,500 miles over due on the change and didn’t want to push the thing, so I called up Scott Delaney who works for Paul Clark VW in Brockton. He confirmed that they could fit me on short notice because I am internet famous and all (joke), so it was a 1 hour drive for an oil change that could honestly be done in ThatGuyRyan’s garage for close to no dollars (the whole hindsight thing is so under rated, I mean I can’t tell the future but I can tell the past really well).
So what do ya do on a rainy Saturday afternoon one week after H2Oi? Well if you’re ThatGuyRyan you call up a couple of buddies and ask them to help rip into that old MkI Rabbit that has been sitting in the driveway, literally getting moldy, rusty and becoming a winter habitat for cute little furry woodland creatures.
